A site visit is more than taking measurements. It aligns the customer’s request with the real space and hands the estimator the information needed to decide what comes next.
A customer may ask only for new wallpaper, while the site reveals moisture or substrate damage that needs attention first. Floor area and photos alone may not determine the final scope or price.

Confirm Access and Scope Before the Visit
Confirm whether the site is a vacant home or operating business, who will provide access, and which areas can be inspected. The field worker also needs to know whether this is a full renovation discussion or a repair in one area, and whether the customer has a target date.
A clear handoff matters even more when the visitor and estimator are different people. If office notes and field findings do not travel together, the customer has to answer the same questions again.
Separate New Findings on Site
Separate what the customer requested from what the company still needs to verify. Assign an owner and date to anything that cannot be decided on site. Finishing the measurements does not always mean the estimate is ready to be calculated.

Label photos with the room, exact area, and connection to the customer’s request. Handle photos of a customer’s home or business through the agreed capture and sharing process.
Schedule the Next Action Before Leaving
If no more checks are needed, set the estimate delivery date. If another person must review the work, assign that review and the next customer contact. Even if a final date is not available, promise when the customer will receive an update.
Connecting the Visit and Follow-Up in ILJI
Connect the address, customer contact, and assignee to the site visit, and use a work form for measurement checks. Keep photos and explanations with the visit, then create a dated, assigned schedule for the estimate or additional review.
ILJI does not decide feasibility or price. It helps the field worker pass the right information to the next owner and keep the promised response date visible.
Before leaving for the next site, capture new findings and the promise made to the customer. The estimate can begin as soon as the measurement visit ends.
